Getting good Dog training tips can actually be very difficult. What many new Dog owners are looking for is tips on basic obedience training for their Dogs. Teaching Dogs to sit successfully is one important aspect of training that is easy to pass over.

CLICK HERE To Get a FREE Dog Training Lesson. You need to have a Dog that will sit on command if you are to progress to other training techniques.

The best way to teach your Dog to sit is by using small treats held in your hand. Once your Dog has realised there is food available you want to use it to your advantage. Move your hand towards the Dog and then raise your hand with the treat above its head and back slightly. The Dog will naturally look up and as it tries to follow the foot it will end up sitting. It may take a few attempts but it won’t be long before the Dog will sit easily. As you are moving your hand and just before you see that the Dog is about to sit you want to use the “sit” command. Keep doing this so the word is always associated with the action.

After a short while you can perform the action without food and get the same result. It will then be a small amount of practice before your pet sits whenever you give the “sit” command. You need to master this most basic of online Dog training commands before attempting other training.
